These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of IOULegacy (the "Service"), operated by IOU, INC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using IOULegacy, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at info@ioutoday.org if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Your Content

Ownership. You retain all rights to the content you upload to IOULegacy. We do not claim ownership of your photos, documents, recipes, capsules, or other materials.

License. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Restrictions. You agree not to upload content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or violates the rights of others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
• Upload malware, viruses, or malicious files
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse AI features

5. AI-Powered Features

IOULegacy includes optional AI features (photo descriptions, recipe suggestions, letter enhancement, life interviews). These features use Azure OpenAI. AI outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it.

Content you submit to AI features is processed by Azure OpenAI and is not used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Beta Status

IOULegacy is currently in beta. The Service is provided "as is" during this period. Features may change, and data loss is possible. We recommend not uploading your only copy of sensitive or irreplaceable files during the beta period.

7. Subscription & Billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing, payment processing, and refund policies will be detailed separately when billing is enabled. During the beta period, all features may be available at no charge.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. Upon termination, we will delete your data within 30 days unless legally required to retain it.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IOU, INC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice in the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Not a Legal, Medical, or Financial Service

IOULegacy is a personal digital storage platform. It is not a legal service, medical records system, financial advisory service, or estate planning tool. We do not provide legal, medical, tax, or financial advice of any kind.

Documents stored on IOULegacy are personal copies kept for your convenience and reference only. They do not constitute original, certified, official, or legally binding versions of any document. IOULegacy makes no representations regarding the legal validity, enforceability, or sufficiency of any document stored on the platform.

We do not verify, validate, certify, or authenticate any document or information you upload. The organizational categories provided (such as folder names and labels) are for your convenience only and do not imply that IOULegacy is offering professional services related to those categories.

You should consult qualified professionals — including licensed attorneys, physicians, financial advisors, and tax professionals — for advice specific to your situation. Do not rely on IOULegacy as a substitute for professional counsel.

IOULegacy is not responsible for any decisions made or actions taken based on documents stored on the platform. By using the Service, you acknowledge that IOULegacy is a personal file storage and organization tool only.
